11 iPhone Features/Programs I Must Have
June 19, 2008 – 2:23 pmYes. I have an iPhone. People give me shit because of it sometimes. Who cares. I love it. But there are a few downloads and features I better have available to me when the apps store launches in (hopefully) July.
- Ability to download files. Pie in the sky? Not sure. And with that ability would come a BitTorrent client.
- Voice/media Recorder. The mic is already there so how hard can it be to design a program like Audio HiJack or WireTap Studio to record interviews and possibly phone calls (when and where it’s legal to do so).
- Voice Over IP (VoIP). When you step into a Wi-Fi hotspot, boom, you have Skype, or something like it to use instead of your minutes.
- Multiple, simultaneous media streaming. So if you want to listen to a voice only podcast while mixing in a little instrumental AOL internet radio, or whatever.
- Video capture/more camera features. The ability to record video with the camera and how about being able to pinch zoom for video and the still camera.
- Cut and Paste. I believe this in on the way so check it off the list.
- Flash. Possibily, yes? Yes?
- Remote access to iTunes. Getting your entire iTunes library on the go? Priceless.
- Tethering. I’m paying to have internet on my iPhone, and it’s unlimited, so why can’t I beam it over to my laptop instead of getting one of those connect anywhere cards?
- Book Reader. Forget Amazon’s Kindle. There better be a great program to buy and read books.
- Screen Capture. While you’re at it, somebody could make a screen capture program.
Anything else I shouldn’t be able to go without?
