NetShare iPhone App Released, Yanked, Released, Yanked Again
August 2, 2008 – 5:03 pmAccording to MacRumors an iPhone tethering application called NetShare has been released to the iTunes app store, yanked, released again and now yanked again.
For those of you lucky enough to grab the $9.99 application there is a tutorial on the Wired Gadget Lab blog.
Somewhat foolishly, I decided to call Apple to learn the status of the NetShare application. I was on the line for nearly 47 minutes, most of it on hold. I finally spoke with someone who said he’d been looking into the issue all day. But he also said Apple does not share this kind of information. Then he said his best guess would be that it would be back online within a day if it is to come back at all. He echoed the obvious reason it might not be available now: it conflicts somehow with AT&T.
He said to check Wired and some other iPhone site I can’t remember now.
