Pekar Project: Kibbitzin’ about how Life got Incorporated

July 12, 2010 – 1:05 pm

Well this stinks, the great “underground” comic book creator Harvey Pekar has reportedly died. And not long after I had started a skeleton post to share the Pekar Project — Harvey’s first regular webcomic series.  I put together a PDF download of the first part of the latest story “Kibbitzin’ How Life Got Incorporated” but please please please visit the Pekar Project at Smith Magazine and pick up some of Pekar‘s books like American Splender and The Quitter if the chance arrises.

thanks so much for the post, but with due respect, please remove the PDF link immediately as that’s beyond fair use, especially today!>thanks.

  3. Crap. Done.

Hopefully no one will profit or defile with my small copy-and-pasted PDF sample made available for a brief moment. No bad intentions or feelings.

Full love and respect to Harvey’s friends and family as we mourn his passing and pay tribute to such a wise old soul.

  4. No harm no foul. Just something we have to watch out for, and can’t make any exceptions…. Your intentions are sweet, and thanks so much for spreading the Pekar-love. If you or any friends are artists, they can feel free to create a Harvey Head in tribute http://smithmag.net/pekarproject/harveyheads
