No one will ever know why I kept a Hotmail account from 1996 until today. Laziness probably.

Here is how to close a Hotmail email account:

1. Open following link:

Delete MSN, Hotmail or other Windows Live Account

If the above link doesn’t work for you, go to following link:

Close Windows Live Account

2. Enter your mail ID and password.

3. Click on “Close account” button.

4. Your account will be reserved for 270 days so that if you want to re-activate it, you can do within 270 days. After 270 days it’ll be deleted permanently and you’ll not be able to re-activate it.

This is the scroll bar on Google Wave. Neat. Looks like it will eliminate the need for your browser’s scroll bars.

Push the up and down buttons and a grey bar behind it moves up and down — along with the Wave pane you’re reading — instead of the scroll bar.  But you can also drag the scroll bar itself, old school style, and everything moves with it.

The doohickey at the bottom that kind of looks like a peg is where scrolling terminates.

Notice any difference between the two images above?  That’s right.  Google Apps, at long last, is out of beta.  This includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk.

The image above is a selection of a screen shot from GMail showing a status bar when attempting to attach a file in GMail.  I’ve read somewhere that this may be happening soon, but today is the first I’ve seen it in the wild, in my GMail.  I applaud this move.  Nothing is more frustrating than waiting around for a video attachment to upload while the whole office gripes that someone is hogging all the bandwidth.  Now I can at least gauge the progress.

Love how Gmail time stamps the above mail message “negative one minutes ago.”  Apparently this online email application can time travel.  Who knew.
