Here’s what I’m mostly listening to and watching, podcast-wise these days:

• All in the Mind “is Radio National’s weekly foray into all things mental – a program about the mind, brain and behaviour.”

• Brainwashed Radio — strange and wonderful music primarily by artists hosted at Brainwashed.com

• Comedy Central: Stand-Up (video) — Excerpts from Stand-Up on Comedy Central
• Electronic Explorations — “A blend of Dubstep, Minimal, IDM, Techno and Advanced Electronica”
• Escape Pod — “an audio podcast site which features a new audio sci-fi story each week, usually updated on Fridays”
• Framework — “phonography/field recording; contextual and decontextualized sound activity”
• GeekBrief.TV video podcast — “Shiny, happy tech news”
• KCRW’s Today’s Top Tune — “is a free song a day, from KCRW’s all Music Channel, that represents a cross section of KCRW’s eclectic music format.”
• The Listening Post — “will bring viewers a weekly insight into how the news is covered by the world’s media.”
• The Moth — “a not-for-profit storytelling organization, was founded in New York in 1997 by poet and novelist George Dawes Green, who wanted to recreate in New York the feeling of sultry summer evenings on his native St. Simon’s Island, Georgia, where he and a small circle of friends would gather to spin spellbinding tales on his friend Wanda’s porch.”
• NY Times Music Popcast — “The latest albums and music events of the week” from the NY Times.
• The Official LOST Podcast — Usually featuring Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cruise.
• The Onion Radio News — A short news story from the TheOnion.com read by Doyle Redland.
• Philosophy Bites — “podcasts of top philosophers interviewed on bite-sized topics.”
• PRI: To the Best of Our Knowledge — “an audio magazine of ideas – two hours of smart, entertaining radio for people with curious minds.”
• PRI’s The World – Geo Quiz — “tests your knowledge of world geography, and introduces you to fascinating people and places around the globe.”
• Rare Frequency — “is a radio show, podcast, and website devoted to experimental, electronic, improv, noise, avant-pop, and other out-there music.”
• Rocketboom — “Daily Internet culture.”
• SpoutBlog: FilmCouch — A weekly show from Spout.com about new and overlooked films.
• TEDTalks — “Inspired talks by the world’s leading thinkers and doers.”
• The Totally Rad Show — Three dudes review movies and video games and sometimes comics and TV, etc.
• Radio Lab — “believes your ears are a portal to another world. Where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience.”

File under experimental alternative new music of all genres.”

Wanted to point out this little error by Apple. Not really even worth mentioning. Nevertheless, the iPhone iTunes store says it can not be accessed without a Wi-Fi connection.  This is not true.  It only takes, at minimum, a Edge connection to get in where podcasts under 10 MB can be downloaded.  Any podcast over 10 MB requires a Wi-Fi connection.

I’m not sure, but believe regular tracks from the iTunes store require Wi-Fi.  At least that’s how it use to be.  Things may have changed with the new 2.2 update.  Not sure.  (The above screen capture is probably just the same one left over from version 2.1 where every connection to the iTunes store on iPhone required Wi-Fi.)
